1830: Founded by Robert McVitie and his father William in Edinburgh, Scotland.
1892: The first Digestive Biscuit was created by Alexander Grant at McVitie’s factory – it became their most iconic product.
1925: They launched the world-famous Chocolate Digestive.
1947: McVitie’s made the wedding cake for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
2000s onwards: McVitie’s expanded worldwide, exporting to over 100 countries.
Now it operates under Pladis Global (established in 2016), which unites McVitie’s with Ulker, Godiva (chocolatier), and DeMet’s Candy Company.
