A Warehouse Manager is responsible for the smooth functioning of the company’s distribution center or warehouse that supplies goods to retail stores. Key duties include:
Operations Management
Oversee daily warehouse activities (receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch).
Ensure timely supply of goods to Vishal Mega Mart stores.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within the warehouse.
Inventory & Stock Control
Manage stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Conduct regular cycle counts / audits.
Coordinate with procurement & merchandising teams.
Team Leadership
Supervise warehouse staff (supervisors, pickers, packers, loaders).
Allocate tasks and monitor performance.
Train new staff on safety, process compliance, and equipment usage.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
Work with logistics partners and in-house fleet for dispatch & deliveries.
Optimize routes and reduce transportation costs.
Ensure timely replenishment of stores across clusters.
Process & Compliance
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure compliance with safety standards and labor laws.
Reduce losses due to damage, pilferage, or mismanagement.
