Job Description

The General Manager is the head of the hotel property. They are responsible for overall business performance, guest satisfaction, employee management, and brand compliance. The GM acts as the key decision-maker for the property, reporting to the regional or corporate leadership team.

At Marriott, a GM is not only an administrator but also the face of the hotel, ensuring that both guests and employees have the best possible experience.


🔑 Key Responsibilities

  1. Operations Management

    • Oversee all departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Finance, HR, Engineering, and Sales.

    • Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the hotel.

  2. Financial Leadership

    • Prepare and manage the hotel’s budget.

    • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability.

    • Develop strategies for cost control and revenue growth.

  3. Guest Services & Brand Standards

    • Maintain Marriott’s high standards of hospitality.

    • Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest loyalty.

    • Drive customer satisfaction through Marriott Bonvoy programs.

  4. Team Leadership

    • Hire, train, and mentor staff across all levels.

    • Set goals and monitor performance of department heads.

    • Build a strong service culture within the hotel.

  5. Sales & Marketing

    • Work with the sales team to attract business clients, events, and leisure guests.

    • Plan promotions, partnerships, and loyalty campaigns.

  6. Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure the hotel follows all legal, health, and safety regulations.

    • Conduct quality and service audits regularly.
