The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in running day-to-day operations of the store. They act as the second-in-command, ensuring smooth sales, staff management, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company policies.
Store Operations
Assist in daily store opening & closing activities.
Monitor stock levels, replenishment, and shelf displays.
Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards.
Sales & Customer Service
Drive sales targets and promotions in coordination with Store Manager.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations.
Improve customer experience and retention.
Team Management
Supervise sales staff, cashiers, and floor associates.
Assist in staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
Motivate team to achieve daily/weekly sales goals.
Inventory & Cash Handling
Support in managing stock audits and inventory control.
Supervise billing, cash collection, and deposits.
Prevent stock shrinkage and pilferage.
Reporting & Coordination
Prepare daily sales and operations reports.
Coordinate with warehouse, supply chain, and corporate teams.
Implement promotions, pricing changes, and merchandising plans.
Strong leadership & people management.
Good communication & customer handling.
Knowledge of retail sales, inventory control, and cash management.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Basic computer knowledge (Excel, POS systems, ERP).
Graduate degree (preferably in Business / Retail / Management).
Prior experience (2–5 years) in retail operations, as Supervisor / Floor Manager.
