A Retail Sales Executive (RSE) is a frontline sales role in the store. Main tasks include:
Greeting customers when they enter, understanding what they’re looking for, and helping them pick suitable jewellery.
Presenting product options, explaining features, making cost estimates.
Achieving sales targets for assigned category or section.
Maintaining stock: keeping count of opening & closing stock, ensuring adequate inventory, reporting sold stock for replenishment.
Handling displays and merchandising — ensuring products are attractively shown, counters clean, keeping displays aligned with brand/store guidelines.
Dealing with customer complaints or queries, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Supporting marketing/promotion efforts (store events, customer lead generation, exhibitions).
Following safety and security protocols: securing jewellery, handling safe-to-floor transfers, ensuring that displayed items are safe from theft.
What the company generally expects:
Education: Usually plus-2 (PUC) or equivalent; sometimes graduate preferred.
Experience: 1-2 or more years in retail / jewellery sales for many roles; more experience for senior / diamond-specialised counters.
Age range: Varies, often mid-20s to 40 for some international roles.
