Job Description

Inspect incoming raw materials / components to ensure they meet specifications (visual, dimensional, material).

Monitor in-process inspection during manufacturing / assembly to catch defects early (e.g. machining, welding, assembly, paint).

Conduct final inspection / pre-dispatch checks on finished goods.

Compare output with engineering drawings / blueprints / specifications / tolerances.

Use measuring and testing tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, templates, test fixtures) properly; ensure measurement accuracy.

Perform visual inspections for defects like surface finish, weld quality, fit & finish etc.

Maintain records of inspections, test reports, non-conformities, defect logs.

Report defects to production / quality engineering teams, suggest / follow corrective actions.

Assist in root-cause investigations when defects / failures occur.

Ensure tools and measuring devices are properly maintained & calibrated.

Follow company quality procedures, safety standards, 5S (or housekeeping), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain as needed to improve quality and reduce rejection / rework.

Participate in audits / process reviews if required.

May also perform or support pre-delivery inspections (PDI), supplier inspections, or customer quality requirements.
