A Production Engineer ensures smooth and efficient vehicle manufacturing processes while maintaining product quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Production Planning & Control – Scheduling production activities, allocating manpower, and ensuring timely completion of targets.
Process Improvement – Streamlining workflows, reducing cycle time, and minimizing waste using Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma practices.
Quality Assurance – Monitoring assembly lines, ensuring adherence to quality standards (ISO/TS 16949, IATF, etc.).
Troubleshooting – Identifying bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, and implementing corrective actions.
Coordination – Working with design, R&D, maintenance, and supply chain teams to align production goals.
Cost Efficiency – Reducing production costs without compromising quality.
Health & Safety – Ensuring worker safety and compliance with statutory regulations.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly, etc.).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks (for production drawings).
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma.
Analytical & problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of ERP / SAP systems.
Leadership & team management skills.
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering (mandatory).
M.Tech or specialization in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing (preferred for higher roles).
Freshers may join as Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) and then move into Production Engineer roles.
