Sourcing & Procurement
Identify and qualify suppliers of APIs & excipients.
Issue RFQs (Request for Quotation), evaluate bids, negotiate prices & contracts.
Ensure quality, cost, and timely availability of raw materials.
Vendor Management
Develop long-term relationships with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance).
Conduct supplier audits along with QA/RA teams.
Cost & Inventory Control
Optimize procurement costs through strategic sourcing.
Maintain right inventory levels in coordination with production planning.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternate sources.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure suppliers meet GMP, FDA, WHO, MHRA regulatory standards.
Handle contracts, purchase orders, and import/export documentation.
Adhere to legal, ethical, and company procurement policies.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs (RA), R&D, Production, and Finance teams.
Collaborate with global procurement teams for sourcing from international suppliers.
Team Leadership (for Sr. Manager)
Lead a team of procurement executives/managers.
Mentor and develop junior staff.
Report procurement KPIs and savings to senior leadership.
