Job Description

Below are common responsibilities depending on the team (Credit / Corporate / Investment / Strategy / Data):

  • Undertake detailed financial analysis: analyze balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, ratios.

  • Prepare credit proposals, underwriting, risk assessments, and credit memoranda.

  • Build financial models (e.g. DCF, comparables, scenario analysis).

  • Conduct industry / market / competitor research to identify trends, risks, opportunities.

  • Support deal execution: structuring, due diligence, documentation, liaising with legal, product teams.

  • Prepare presentations, pitch books, client materials, internal reports.

  • Work with stakeholders (relationship managers, risk, product, legal, operations) to align requirements.

  • Monitor existing portfolios for performance, covenants, compliance.

  • Assist in strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with HSBC’s policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements.

  • Document assumptions, maintain data, and ensure accuracy of deliverables.
